Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 23, 2026
In plain language
Journ helps you build and share trip plans using AI. You own your trips and stay in control — the AI suggests, you decide. A few things to keep in mind: AI can be wrong, so verify anything important before you travel; third-party providers (hotels, flights, experiences) handle their own bookings and policies; and using the service responsibly keeps it working well for everyone.
Welcome to Journ! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Journ website, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Journ LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Description of Journ
Journ is an AI-powered, collaborative travel planning platform. The Service allows users to create itineraries, collaborate with other travelers, and receive dynamically generated travel recommendations based on user-provided preferences. While our AI suggests travel options, users retain final control over their itineraries.
2. Eligibility and account registration
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. To access certain features, you may be required to register an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, and you agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. Each individual may maintain only one personal account.
3. Your content
A. Ownership
You retain ownership of the text, preferences, and trip data you submit to the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Journ LLC a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process this data to provide and operate the Service.
B. Service improvement
Journ uses feedback and trip interactions to improve recommendations and the quality of the Service, subject to your privacy choices and our Privacy Policy.
4. Collaboration, shared trips, and public links
Journ lets you plan trips with others. Here is what that means in practice.
A. Trip members
When you add collaborators to a trip, they can see itinerary items, expenses, and messages you contribute to that trip. Depending on the role you assign, collaborators may also be able to add, edit, or comment on trip content.
B. Organizer control
As the trip organizer, you control who can join the trip and what is shared. When you accept an AI suggestion, the change becomes visible to all collaborators.
C. Inviting others
When you invite someone, you provide their email address. Only invite people who you reasonably expect want to receive the invitation.
D. Public links
If you make a trip or bucket list public, anyone with the link can view it. Public content may be indexed by search engines. You can revoke a public link at any time from your trip settings, but cached copies outside Journ's control may persist for a period of time.
E. Deleting your account
When you delete your account, your personal profile and private content are removed. Contributions you made to shared trips may be anonymized rather than deleted, so the trip remains usable for your collaborators.
5. AI suggestions and your responsibility
Journ uses artificial intelligence to generate draft itineraries and suggestions. AI can be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. You are responsible for verifying the feasibility, safety, and accuracy of any suggested destinations or activities before traveling.
6. Travel information, third-party providers, and affiliate links
Journ helps you organize travel plans and discover options. We do not operate airlines, hotels, restaurants, attractions, transportation providers, or booking platforms, and we are not a travel agency.
Always confirm the following directly with the relevant provider before you book or travel:
- Prices and availability
- Cancellation and refund policies
- Visa, passport, and entry requirements
- Health, safety, and accessibility conditions
- Opening hours and operational status
- Local laws and regulations
The Service may include affiliate links to third-party booking platforms. Journ LLC may earn a commission when you book through these links. This does not affect the ranking of results or increase the price you pay. We do not control third-party platforms and are not responsible for cancellations, disputes, financial losses, or other issues arising from transactions with them.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any party.
- Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of the Service.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person or entity.
- Send unsolicited promotional content or spam.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or attempt to bypass any authentication, rate limiting, or security mechanism.
- Use the Service in any manner that could disable, overburden, or impair it.
8. Intellectual property and patent notice
A. Ownership
The Service, including its original content, features, user interface, software code, and underlying algorithms, is the exclusive property of Journ LLC and its licensors.
B. Patent pending status
Journ's proprietary technology—including but not limited to the automated travel analysis engine, multi-user collaborative routing logic, and dynamic preference scoring mechanisms—is protected by intellectual property laws and is subject to patent applications currently pending before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
C. Restrictions
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial travel planning. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service.
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service's core logic or user interface.
- Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers to extract data, features, or AI-generated outputs from the Service to train a competing machine learning model or build a competing product.
9. Service changes, suspension, and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, created risk or possible legal exposure for Journ LLC, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution will survive any termination of your access to the Service.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Journ LLC, its founders, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to financial loss, travel disruptions, or personal injury, arising out of your use of or reliance on the Service.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Journ LLC, its officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the Service, (b) your User Content, or (c) your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@journ.travel and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for a period of at least 30 days.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with any policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Journ LLC regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
14. Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
